(KNSI) — The Sartell-St. Stephen School District is holding a special presentation for families about social media and the effect it has on students.
A group of students from the middle and high schools is coordinating it. The event is Monday, April 10th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sartell Middle School Performing Arts Center. District 748 families are invited to hear from staff with the Central Minnesota Mental Health Center, who will educate parents and students about the impacts of social media on students’ well-being, setting limits, common social media platforms, options for parental controls, and reporting concerns online. The students will also debut a public service announcement video they made about the dangers of being online.
Sartell High School Assistant Principal Amanda Holstrom shared that she is “so proud of the great work our SMS and SHS student volunteers have done to educate their peers – and now our community – about social media.”
The event is free.
