(KNSI) – Three St. Cloud businesses were selected by the Economic Development Authority in the second round of the Main Street Revitalization Grant program at the group’s meeting on Tuesday.
Blooming Kids Child Care Center wants to build two new classrooms allowing for 30 extra enrollees. The total project cost is estimated at $45,540 with an accompanying grant amount of $13,662. R & L Repair is looking to add two service bays and a handicap-accessible bathroom. It is the largest project in the current group. The total cost is $560,859 and the grant is for $168,257.70. Both businesses are on W. St. Germain Street.
Quality Express is rehabbing a building near Target on 1st Street Southeast. The company helps deliver Amazon packages throughout the region. When finished, the business expects to hire more workers. They already have 160 people on the payroll. The project requires $102,654 with the grant covering $30,796.
Final approval must come from the Initiative Foundation. After two funding rounds, there is still money available for St. Cloud businesses through the Main Street program. The third round of applications will be accepted from mid-April through mid-May.
