(KNSI) – This month, channel your inner Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, or Salvador Dali in St. Joseph.
The city is holding a series of art classes beginning April 15th. Park and Recreation Director Rhonda Juell told KNSI News the city teamed up with a local art major who wants to be a teacher one day. “I always reach out to St. Ben’s to see if anyone would like to put on any activities or experiences of any kind for kids in the area. And Olivia Hanson reached out to me said she’d love to do some art classes. So this is the first time we are trying this. And we have a few kids signed up for each of them right now. So hopefully it’ll go well.”
The classes include painting, sculptures, weaving and more. Juell talked about why the city is offering art classes. “Not all kids are into sports. And sports are pretty readily available in the area. So we tried to get some things like art classes. We try and get a variety of things going on for all kids to try.”
The classes are for all ages and are $10 per class per person. All materials will be provided. To register, click here.
