(KNSI) — The roof at a high school gym partially collapsed on Saturday.
No one was in the gym at Browerville High School when it came down, but it was decided at an emergency school board meeting Sunday the rest of the roof needed to be torn down in a controlled collapse, according to the district’s Facebook page. Classrooms around the gym were not damaged, but they will be closed for safety reasons.
School is in session Monday.
Friday, areas of Minnesota saw several inches of heavy, wet snow. That was on top of heavy, wet snow that fell the week before. Last month, the roof at the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth partially collapsed under the weight of around a foot of snow that had recently fallen there.
