(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has launched a new website for people to request their driving records.
The agency says we have become conditioned to regularly checking our credit report but information on a driving record can be just as consequential. It affects employment and auto insurance rates, among other things.
A link to access your history is here. The cost is $9, with a certified copy an option for a dollar more. The document comes within minutes and is viewable for 30 days.
DPS says it has already fulfilled 900 requests since the tool launched on February 1st. You will need to know your driver’s license number and your Social Security number to obtain a copy of your record.
