(KNSI) – St. Cloud is hosting a Transportation Summit on April 6th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in council chambers.

City, county, and state representatives will present on this year’s significant road construction projects. There are several municipal ones as Cooper Avenue was originally scheduled to take place in 2022 but had to be delayed because of a shortage of available materials. Instead, it will run from this April through October, affecting University Drive to 22nd Street South.

Other full-scale projects that include everything from replacing underground utilities to laying down new pavement will be Wilson Avenue from Highway 23 to 1st Street Northeast and West St. Germain Street between 10th and 12th Avenues. Additionally, about 15 miles throughout the city will have basic resurfacing done on them.

MnDOT is reconstructing the interchange at Highway 10 and 23 on the city’s east side, which includes replacing overpasses in the area. It is also redoing Highway 301 on St. Cloud’s southeast end at Highway 10 near the jail. Stearns County is repaving Roosevelt Road between Cooper Avenue South and Highway 15. Sherburne County will do surface improvements to County Road 63 from County Road 8 to the Park-N-Ride lot, lasting about a month. Crews will start there in May.

The City of St. Cloud has created a blog with updates on all projects. You can click here to know the latest.
