(KNSI) – The PACT Act, which was passed last summer by Congress, gives several area veterans more healthcare options and increased compensation benefits.

It applies to troops exposed to toxic substances from Vietnam through the post-9/11 era in the Middle East. To learn if you qualify and get assistance with filling out an application for treatment, there will be a PACT Act claims clinic on Wednesday, March 15th, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event is hosted by the St. Cloud VA Medical Center on its campus in Building 8.

Agent Orange, burn pits, oil well fires, and other exposures are all covered. Even veterans who cannot normally get health care through the VA system may qualify for PACT Act benefits.

Appointments for the clinic can be made until March 10th at (320) 255-6340. Walk-ins will be accepted on the day of the event.
