(KNSI) – Another potential winter storm has altered the schedule for an area boys’ basketball team.
#2 St. Cloud Tech has advanced to the Section 8AAA Final, where they’ll meet the top-seeded Alexandria Cardinals. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday at Willmar High School by the Minnesota State High School League.
Snow is expected to fly beginning Thursday afternoon and intensify later that night. The championship game will now take place Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Tech breezed through the first two games in the section bracket. They routed Willmar, 80-44, last Tuesday and followed it up with another comfortable win against Sauk Rapids-Rice on Friday, 70-56.
The Tigers have won four straight to improve to 17-10 overall. They split the season series with the Cardinals, losing to Alex by 15 in December and getting revenge on the road on Thursday, February 9th. The Tigers grounded the Cardinals that night, 67-57.
