HS Basketball Results: Both Albany Teams Thriving In Postseason

Girls Basketball Section Finals

5AAA

#1 Becker 62, #2 Monticello 49 (Thursday, 3/9, at Buffalo High School)

6AA

#1 Albany 49, #2 Sauk Centre 41 (Friday, 3/10, at St. Cloud State University)

Becker received the top overall seed in Class AAA. The Bulldogs will play at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday against Marshall, a random draw.

Albany is the third seed in Class AA. They get Perham, a random draw, at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Both games will be played at Maturi Pavilion on the campus of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

Boys Basketball

8AAA

#1 Alexandria 69, #4 ROCORI 57
#2 St. Cloud Tech 70, #6 Sauk Rapids-Rice 56

Both semifinals were played on Friday night. Alexandria clashes with Tech on Thursday at Willmar High School for the Section 8AA title. No time has been announced.

6AA

#1 Albany 82, #8 Cathedral 50
#4 Sauk Centre 58, #5 Osakis 55
#2 Mora 54, #7 Melrose 40
#3 Milaca 46, #6 Annandale 34

All quarterfinals took place on Saturday at St. John’s University. The section semis are scheduled for Wednesday. Albany battles Sauk Centre at 6:00 p.m. and Mora-Milaca follows at 7:30.
