(KNSI) — Just as one snow system moves out, another one is coming in right behind it.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch in effect from 6:00 a.m. Saturday through noon on Sunday. Heavy snow is possible at times, with accumulations of five to eight inches. Winds will also kick up, gusting to around 45 miles an hour at times.
Snow will start to fall across western Minnesota by early Saturday morning and spread eastward through the afternoon. Right now, it looks like the highest totals will be across central Minnesota. Benton, Mille Lacs, Morrison, and Stearns Counties are in the watch for now. Kandiyohi, Meeker, Sherburne and Wright Counties are being spared. This could also change with the later model runs Friday.
Travel could be dicey at times this weekend with slick roads and patchy blowing snow. See the latest road conditions by clicking here.
