8AAA Section Final
#1 Alexandria 69, #3 Sauk Rapids-Rice 44: The Storm fell down by double digits early but fought back and had a chance to tie or take the lead just before the half. The teams went into the break with the Cardinals clinging to a 36-34 lead.
The Storm relied on guard Courtney Paulson to spark the offense. She and Grace Roesch were both in double figures at half and failed to score in the second.
Alexandria outscored Sauk Rapids-Rice 33-10 when the teams returned to the court. Hadley Thul led the Cards with 20 points but Allie Haabala (19) and MaCee Linow (16) were close behind.
True freshman center Kate Hennessy was a force on the interior defense. She had four blocks and four steals.
