(KNSI) — Nominations are now open for the Sauk Rapids Citizen of the Year Award.
Any resident 18 or older who has served the Sauk Rapids community is eligible for the award. Nominees may be active in faith-based or civic organizations, boards or commissions, community groups, or business activities. Candidates can also be leaders in human service work or work diligently behind the scenes.
The award will be presented at the April 24th city council meeting. The winner will serve as grand marshal for this year’s Rapids River Days parade.
Last year’s winner was Jackie Johnson. She is the Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota.
Nomination brochures can be picked up at the Sauk Rapids Government Center or downloaded here. Nominations will be taken until April 10th.
