(KNSI) – Back-to-back goes St. Cloud Tech senior Taylar Schaeffer.

She repeated as Class AA all-around champion at the Minnesota State High School League’s girl’s gymnastics final on Saturday.

Schaefer scored a clean sweep, finishing first in all four individual events. The domination of the balance beam, floor exercise, uneven bars, and vault put Schaefer at the top of the all-around standings as well.

The closest event was the floor exercise where Schaefer just nudged St. Michael-Albertville junior Jackie Bergeron, 9.55 to 9.525. Schaefer’s best event was the vault, where she secured a 9.825 score, nearly perfect.

Schaefer was the only area athlete in the top 20 for overall results. Sartell junior Kendra Deragisch came in 24th.
