(KNSI) — The GREAT Theater has announced its shows for the 2023-2024 season.
Kicking things off for the Broadway Series at the Paramount Center for the Arts is Guys and Dolls, which is a romantic comedy gambling with love, luck and the best of a lifetime. The Broadway production snagged several Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Revival. The local production hits the stage from September 15th through the 24th.
Little Women runs October 27th through November 5th. It tells the story of Four ambitious sisters determined to own their stories in this cleverly reimagined play, “freshly interpreted for a new era.”
Up next, it’s Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Chip, Belle, and Beast are back for this unlikely love story. The show runs from November 25th through December 10th.
The action-packed mythical adventure The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is a new musical with heroes from best-selling novels and a “thrilling original rock score.” That show runs from February 2nd through the 11th.
The big spring musical is Footloose, staging April 5th through the 21st, and will have audiences kicking off their Sunday shoes. High-energy song and dance numbers tell the story of rebellious determination.
Over at the Helgeson Learning Lab, the season begins with A Year With Frog and Toad Kids. A charming and witty tale of friendship celebrates our unique differences with a jazzy and upbeat score. It’s a great play for the whole family. The show runs from October 7th through the 14th.
Silent Sky is based on a true story of an astronomer telling the tale of the passion and determination of women in science who transformed the science of astronomy to redefine our understanding of the cosmos. The show runs from March 8th through the 17th.
Friendly neighbors turn feuding enemies as gardens and cultures clash in the thought-provoking comedy Native Gardens. The tale of good intentions and bad manners runs May 10th through the 19th.
