(KNSI) – Waite Park will be touring three facilities next week to get a better feel for what the city wants for its new public safety building. In November, 54% of voters approved spending $20 million on a new joint police department and fire hall.
The city council and staff will meet with architects and look at facilities in Fridley, New Hope and Elk River. Officials say they’re holding the tour to understand better what other cities have done to address their public safety needs. The tour will leave city hall at 6:30 a.m. and arrive back around 5:00 p.m.
The event is open to the public; however, people are responsible for transportation and lunch.
