(KNSI) — St. Cloud-based Nahan has earned the Star One – Commitment from the Printing Industry Midwest’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Accreditation Program.

Nahan is one of the first in the printing industry to be honored with the achievement which creates foundational changes in recruiting, hiring and training practices within the industry and demonstrates the company’s compliance and dedication to creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive company.

In July of 2022, The Minnesota Department of Human Rights said it had reached a settlement agreement with Nahan requiring the company to enforce policies that prevent racial discrimination and create a more welcoming workplace.

“We’re proud of the DEI initiatives we’ve implemented in recent years. This recognition from PIM underscores that we’re on the right path to helping the printing industry diversify and expand opportunities for marginalized groups,” said Chad Coss, VP of Human Resources at Nahan.

According to a press release, Nahan’s journey to becoming a more diverse and inclusive company will continue as it works towards the next star level. To get there, Nahan will review its processes and documentation, setting measurable goals on how it can move forward with having an effect on DE&I.

This is the latest award the company has collected. Nahan received multiple awards for its work at the June Printing Industry Midwest Star Awards. In October, Nahan earned the Digital Printing/ Direct Marketing Best in Category Award at the PRINTING United Alliance Premier PRINT Awards for the South Dakota Department of Tourism “Your Guide to Great Finds” campaign.

Nahan has been in business for over 150 years.
