(KNSI) — St. Cloud’s former police chief and a farmer from the area will be in Washington D.C. for the president’s State of the Union address Tuesday night.
Saying they represent the best of the St. Cloud area and the district he represents, Minnesota’s Sixth District Congressman Tom Emmer invited William Blair Anderson and Hannah Molitor as his guests for the speech.
Emmer tells KNSI News he got to know Anderson well during his time as chief and “became a good friend of mine over the last several years.”
Anderson spent ten years as chief and helped launch the Saint Cloud Community Outpost, a community outreach program that became the basis for Emmer’s Community OutPost Outreach and Engagement Act.
Molitor is a fourth-generation dairy farmer near St. Cloud and helps take care of around 300 cows. Emmer says she has been an active member of the Stearns County Farm Bureau for over eight years and was recently elected county president in the summer of 2022. Molitor also works for the Minnesota Dairy Herd Improvement Association as a field representative, visiting farms daily and collecting samples to make sure Minnesota dairy farms are producing high-quality and safe milk.
President Joe Biden’s address to a joint session of Congress begins at 8:00 p.m. Central.
