(KNSI) — The Animal Humane Society is asking for the public’s help after it rescued 56 animals living in squalid conditions in Morrison County.
A total of 56 dogs, cats and other animals were removed from the overcrowded, unsanitary space. The Humane Society said they were constantly exposed to “filth,” leaving some with “severe upper respiratory infections and skin conditions. Some were dehydrated. All of them were frightened, exhausted, and overwhelmed.”
The animals will now be cared for and given vaccines, behavioral health help and needed surgeries to get them ready for adoption.
They ask for emergency veterinary care donations and say, “a case this large requires significant space, time, and resources.”
