(KNSI) — Local young artists have their work on display at the Crossroads Center mall.
The annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota art gallery is hanging in the hallway outside JCPenney, with nearly 150 pieces made by club members in grades K-12. A recognition ceremony will take place Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. next to the exhibit for all participants.
Students made their creations through applied arts, dance, digital music, drawing, graphic art, painting, photography, performing arts and more. According to officials, the goal is to provide chances for kids to empower youth to express themselves creatively and develop a more positive self-identity.
A panel of judges will pick works for submission to Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s annual National Fine Arts Exhibit, displayed throughout the year at BGCA events. The selected pieces will also be featured in a virtual tour on the BGCA’s website.
