One Dead After Head-On Collision Saturday Morning

(KNSI) — One person died after two vans crashed on Highway 23 in Stearns County Saturday morning.

A Toyota Sienna and a Chevrolet cargo van collided head-on near County Road 123 in Munson Township at approximately 8:20. The pavement was wet at the time, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Airbags on both vehicles deployed.

50-year-old Lana Renae Tibodeau of Windom, the driver of the Sienna, was killed. Her teenage son suffered non-life-threatening injuries. There were three men in the Chevrolet Express Cargo Van who also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Three fire departments, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Paynesville Police Department, and CentraCare Ambulance assisted at the scene.
