(KNSI) — A program that educates young people to fill a worker shortage in central Minnesota has new leadership.

The Exploring Potential Interests and Careers committee has hired Michelo Muleya as its EPIC coordinator. She will start in her new role on January 30th. Muleya is tasked with developing, expanding, implementing, leading, and supporting the program.

Muleya has an administrative and business background and was the economic development specialist with Benton Economic Partnership. She graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2019.

EPIC is a partnership between area businesses, community leaders and regional schools to get kids interested in a career. Their events provide a hands-on interactive experience for students to look at a job close to home. In October 2022, more than 4,000 students from 29 area high schools participated in an event held at St. Cloud Technical and Community College.
