New Healthy Fast Food Franchise Opening In St. Cloud Saturday

(KNSI) – A new fast food franchise is opening in St. Cloud with plans for a second location in Waite Park.

Nautical Bowls will open at 305 5th Avenue South on Saturday. Co-owner and General Manager Brent Wagner says their slogan is ‘super food, super life.’ He described what the restaurant serves. “What we are is an acai bowl shop. So basically the product is healthy fast food. We are gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, with no refined sugars that are full of antioxidants and natural organic ingredients.”

Wagner says there’s a need for healthy fast food in central Minnesota, and he is happy to provide it. “We’re really excited to be in the area. There’s not a lot of healthy fast food options in St. Cloud. And so, we wanted to bring the healthy active lifestyle more so, to the St. Cloud area.”

He says don’t be intimidated by the menu because the staff is there to help. “Walk in, and you’re greeted. We’ll help walk you through what we offer and what it is and help you pick something that you might like. Being fast food, it should be about three or four minutes by the time we scoop it up and get you your food.”

The grand opening is Saturday, and there is something special for the first customers through the door. “The first 50 people will get a free bowl. We will have raffles and door prizes from other local businesses. We’re not doing a ribbon cutting. It’s a rope cutting because we’re nautical, so we will cut a nautical rope. We’ll have a balloon arch and all that kind of stuff.”

This is the 30th store in Minnesota. The franchise has plans to expand to 130 stores overall in the next couple of years. Wagner says they plan to open a second location in Waite Park in the summer or fall of 2023. The site has yet to be finalized.
