(KNSI) — A 43-year-old Eden Valley man has been found guilty of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for molesting children as far back as 2015.
A Stearns County jury convicted Casimiro Sosa-Saavedra on all three counts Wednesday.
According to the criminal complaint, filed in August of 2021, deputies from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office were called to the St. Cloud Hospital by a woman who said she believed her husband had been sexually abusing her three daughters.
The first girl, who was 12 at the time of the interview, told investigators Casimiro Sosa-Saavedra touched her inappropriately under and over her clothing. She also detailed three times he sexually assaulted her, the first time she was seven.
Another child, who was ten at the time of the interview, said she believed the first time Sosa-Saavedra abused her was when she was eight. She told investigators he touched her under and over her clothing and sexually assaulted her. She said he offered her money to come into his room and told her not to tell her mother what happened. She said he told her he would buy her things if she performed sex acts with him and made her touch him.
Court papers say the other child, who was seven years old at the time of the interview, told police Sosa-Saavedra also touched her inappropriately, sexually assaulted her, and told her not to tell her mother.
Sosa-Saavedra is scheduled to be sentenced on March 3rd. Each count carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison.
