(KNSI) – The City of Sartell will be presenting a brand refresh at next Monday’s council meeting. Mayor Ryan Fitzthum says that will include a new logo and website.

The current mark of a setting sun over the Mississippi River dates back to the late-90’s. Fitzthum says the new logo has been in the works since 2021 and will be less general and more representative of Sartell’s history.

“City of Sartell, before it was the City of Sartell, was referred to as the third rapids and it was really the third rapids north of St. Anthony Falls in Minneapolis. French fur traders had documented our area, which is now City of Sartell as the third rapids.”

Fitzthum says the city’s page will be more easily accessible and will stress transparency.

“We think of most recently, [the] County Road 1 project — showing people on a website, here’s the overview of the project, here’s who’s impacted, here’s the timelines of that. As we make changes to that timeline or as timeline changes happen, people will be able to subscribe to that specific project so that they’d be notified.”

Fitzthum says he wants to have capital outlay plans and budgets available on the internet for residents. He wants to show the blueprints for a new public safety building and list out the amenities included.

Fitzthum says it is a priority of his administration to justify how money is spent, especially considering the rapid growth of the city.
