(KNSI) — A Melrose man has been sentenced on drug and gun charges while having more than a dozen other counts dismissed, including four counts of possession of child pornography.
On Thursday, Rodolfo Ramirez Jr. was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison by Stearns County Judge Heidi Schultz. The 23-year-old Ramirez pleaded guilty to first-degree drug possession and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The plea deal meant multiple other burglaries, child pornography, DWI, drug and theft charges were dismissed at sentencing.
In December 2020, a woman called the police and said she was being chased by Ramirez, who was a passenger in a truck, and he pointed a gun at her. The truck was eventually found and stopped. A handgun, a large amount of cash, and almost four and a half pounds of methamphetamine were found inside.
In September 2021, a search warrant was executed at Ramirez’s home, and his phone was seized and searched. Investigators say they found 73 videos and 35 photos of children from three to 13 years old who were being sexually abused.
