(KNSI) – A Melrose man will be sentenced on drug and gun charges while having more than a dozen other counts dismissed
Rodolfo Ramirez Jr. has pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled substance in the first degree and possessing a firearm by a convicted felon. He is facing a little more than 11 years in prison.
Multiple drug, theft, burglary, DWI and child pornography charges will be dismissed at sentencing on December 29th.
In December 2020, a woman called the police and said Ramirez was chasing her a pointed a gun at her. The 23-year-old was a passenger in a white truck that was pulled over near Sauk Centre. Police say they smelled marijuana and searched the truck.
Investigators say they found a handgun, a large amount of cash, and almost four and a half pounds of methamphetamine. A search of Ramirez’s record showed he has prior convictions in Stearns and Douglas County for drugs in 2018, 2017, and 2016 which bars him from owning or possessing guns.
In September 2021, a search warrant was executed at Ramirez’s home. His iPhone was seized and searched. According to the criminal complaint, there were 73 videos and 35 photos depicting children being sexually abused. The images were of children ranging from ages 3 to 13 years old.
