(KNSI) — The third annual St. Cloud Winter Chill is set for Saturday, January 21st, 2023.

St. Cloud Recreation Program Director Steve Krueger says they hold the event because “it’s always nice to have a community Event [to] kind of bring people together. And just to get out and enjoy the outdoors, we can say to ourselves, hey, you know what, it might be cold out here, but there’s a lot to do.”

The event features sledding, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, arts and crafts, snow painting, prizes, and more. Krueger says The Nordic Ski Club and Youth Ski League of Central Minnesota are there to help introduce people to some winter activities. “Whether you’re a novice and want to learn how to ski, you have some people here that’ll give you lessons. Otherwise, just come on and ski the trails over at Riverside Park.”

Bring your winter gear, such as snowshoes, skis and sleds. Snowshoes will be available for use while supplies last. No registration is required. Refreshments and snacks also be will be provided.

The event runs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
