(KNSI) – Fresh off the heels of another successful Shop Small Saturday, more holiday events are scheduled for the coming weeks in St. Cloud.

Director of Downtown Planning and Development Tyler Bevier says this weekend will have activities at several area businesses, providing thrills for everyone.

“Saturday, December 3rd, we’ll have the Hot Cocoa Crawl. There will be cookie decorating as well from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and then kids can write letters to Santa at a couple of participating businesses from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as well. And I even heard Mrs. Claus is coming to town for some book reading at the Paramount gift shop that day.”

The St. Cloud Downtown Alliance has all of December filled with Christmas cheer. It starts on Thursday with the first weekly Downtown Night Market. The new tradition will meet with an established one on December 8th. Bevier explains what the night market entails and how it can complement a St. Cloud favorite, the Weihnachtsmarkt.

“[It’s] pretty neat to have the city German market with our Thursday night markets downtown from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. So, there will be holiday shopping, dining deals, and there’ll even be holiday music playing throughout downtown.”

The 10th annual Weihnachtsmarkt is being held at the River’s Edge Convention Center Parking Ramp. Vendors will be selling holiday crafts. Beer from the Beaver Island Brewing Company and hot spiced Glühwein are both on the menu.
