Sports Wrap: Cathedral Volleyball Advances to Section Final

Section 6AA Semifinal

#4 St. Cloud Cathedral 3, #1 Sauk Centre 1 (25-22, 19-25, 25-22, 25-19): The Crusaders’ Kayla Sexton led all players with 23 kills. She was complemented nicely by Ellie Voth’s 13 attack points. Libero Sydney Wahlin patrolled the back row and came up with 15 digs, second on the squad to Ellie Klinefelter’s 19. Cammy Sand was the primary setter, notching 25 assists. Jenna Gapinski-Vogt and Cierra Kortan were the featured attackers for Sauk Centre. The Mainstreeters end their season with a 25-3 record. Cathedral improves to 21-8.

The 6AA final is scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Cathedral will face Pequot Lakes. The Patriots won the first set against the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines. Eventually they found themselves down 2-1. Pequot Lakes battled back and won the deciding fifth set, 15-9.
