State Patrol Investigating Double Fatal Crash Monday Night

(KNSI) — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating after two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 694 Monday night.

According to a preliminary report, just before 10:00, 46-year-old Julian Evan Griffin of Brooklyn Center was driving a Ford Fusion and took the ramp from University Avenue to eastbound 694. At the top of the ramp, Griffin turned and began driving the wrong way. He hit 78-year-old Mary Louise Ruegsegger of Mounds View head on.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
