(KNSI) – County Road 1 and 19th Avenue South in Sartell are open again to traffic.
The change went into effect on Saturday morning. County Road 1 was the subject of a long project that stretches back to Monday, April 18th. It involved a complete reconstruction from Sartell Street to 12th Street North. CSAH 1 remains a two-lane road, with bike lanes in both directions and an eight-foot wide trail on the east side for walkers.
The work on 19th Avenue South between 15th Street and County Road 4 got off to a late start, which means some touchups will still be needed in the spring. One side of the road will be closed when crews return.
The project involves widening and repaving the road, adding a left-hand turn lane, lowering a hill that is considered steep enough to be a safety issue, and putting in a bike trail. The announcement was made on the City of Sartell Facebook page. A link is here.
In a release, Engagement Director Nikki Sweeter thanked Landwehr Construction and R. L. Larson Excavating for finishing both projects early.
