(KNSI) — A 23-year-old Sauk Centre man is jailed after the mother of a teenager said she found sexually explicit messages from him on her daughter’s social media account.
The 14-year-old told investigators she began chatting with Zachary Sureth around a month or two ago when a friend gave her his Snapchat handle. The criminal complaint says in the conversations, he describes various sex acts and tells her to send him pictures and videos, which he saved on his phone. The girl said they also engaged in sexual contact on three separate occasions, and he knew how old she was. Sureth is more than five years older than she is, and the criminal complaint says neither consent nor mistake of age is a defense.
He is facing a child pornography charge and a charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
