(KNSI) – Children dealing with cancer will have a little more to help pass the time, thanks to the St. Cloud Cathedral High School football team.

The team held a toy drive during their Tackle Cancer game in support of the Patrick R. McMullen Smile in My Heart Foundation at Saint John’s University on September 9th. The toys were recently dropped off at St. Cloud Hospital’s Children’s Center.

According to the foundation, Patrick received care at St. Cloud Hospital during his six-year journey with brain cancer. He died in April 2017 at the age of 14. CentraCare Health says his parents, Mike and Lisa McMullen, have supported St. Cloud Hospital’s Children’s Center in various ways in honor of Patrick.
