(KNSI) — Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Republican Minnesota Secretary of State candidate Kim Crockett.

Via his Truth Social account Tuesday morning, he said election fraud is “rampant” in Minnesota, and nothing has been done about it, and nothing has been done to fix it. He said, “Kim will get to the bottom of that, and so much else.” He called her a “smart and dedicated fighter” who has his “complete and total endorsement.”

DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin issued a statement condemning Crockett for receiving the support of “a man whose lies about a stolen election and incited an insurrection against the United States government.” Martin refers to the January 6th Capitol riot, where protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol building as the 2020 election results were being certified.

Martin said, “Just like Trump,” Crockett is “spreading dangerous lies about election fraud that undermine faith in democracy and tear at the fabric of our society.” The statement called Crockett a “Trump lackey” who can’t be allowed to hold office.

Crockett is running against incumbent Secretary of State Steve Simon.
