(KNSI) – Bonanza Steakhouse of St. Cloud is closing later this month after 48 years in business.

The owners, Dustin Dusha and Jeff Mathiasen, made the announcement late Friday on the establishment’s Facebook page. They did not provide a reason for the closure, instead taking time to thank the restaurant’s loyal customers and staff.

Dusha and Mathiasen bought Bonanza in April 2013. They had been long-time managers of the establishment before that, putting in a combined 70+ years at the eatery. In their closure notice, the two said Bonanza is more than just a restaurant.

They call the camaraderie between current and past staff something akin to a family, saying that it has been a workplace for multiple generations, parents and their children. Dusha and Mathiasen say people who are now married with kids met while working at Bonanza and several life-long friendships were forged as well.

Their last day in business will be on October 28th.
