Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting His Child For Years

(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man is accused of raping his daughter for years.

According to the criminal complaint, a 14-year-old girl told a teacher her father was sexually abusing her. The girl was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in St. Cloud.

Investigators say Jairo Missael Fernandez Sorto started sexually abusing his daughter in 2016 when she was eight years old. Officials say the abuse continued two or three times a week, with the last incident on October 11th. The 37-year-old allegedly was worried the victim could have gotten pregnant and bought her the Plan B pill on at least two occasions.

Fernandez Sorto has been charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Bail was set at $300,000. His next court appearance is on October 20th.
