(KNSI) – Sartell is celebrating National Fire Prevention Week with an open house. The event is Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sartell Fire House, 501 Pinecone Road.
Fire Chief Peter Kedrowski says they enjoy hosting the event. “It’s a chance for us to invite the public in, give them a little bit of coaching on some different fire prevention tips within their own home that they can do. We also run about 300 kindergarteners through the station from the Sartell School District this week to go through some fire prevention stuff with.”
He says the open house lets them bring in partners they work with daily, like police and ambulance crews.
Kedrowski says there are a couple of new events in 2022. “This year we have Lifelink helicopter. They’re coming in, they’re gonna be landing at about 4:30 p.m. We have Collins Brothers Towing, they’re going to be bringing a car so we can do an auto extrication demo. That’s going to be around 5:30 p.m. They are going to be bringing a monster truck as well.”
The open house also includes having fire trucks on display, free batteries for smoke detectors, SWAT team and more. For more information on the event, click here.
