High School Volleyball

Sauk Rapids-Rice 3, Brainerd 1 (24-26, 25-19, 29-27, 25-15): SR-R defeats a hot Brainerd team, who had just upset Sartell earlier in the week. Ava Athman played superbly, with 18 kills and 13 digs. Aubrey Marketon and Katelyn Anderson were the primary setters for the Storm.

Willmar 3, ROCORI 0 (22-25, 20-25, 23-25): University of Minnesota commit Sydney Schnichels willed the Cardinals to a win in a closely fought contest. Schnichels led Willmar with 20 kills and 13 digs. Allie Rosendahl and Gretchen Volk added 11 digs and 10 digs, respectively.

Alexandria 3, Sartell-St. Stephen 0 (14-25, 23-25, 20-25)

Cathedral 3, Pierz 2 (25-16, 22-25, 25-10, 21-25, 16-14): A nailbiter in Pierz as the Crusaders improve to 13-6. Kayla Sexton set the program’s single-match kill record with 28 while adding 20 digs. Sydney Wahlin and Olivia Prom both added at least 15 digs as well. Ellie Voth had five kills and five blocks on the front row.

Albany 3, Little Falls 0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-15): It was a balanced offensive effort at home for the Huskies. Andrea Majchrzak led the team with 11 kills. Kendall Buerman tallied 34 assists. Allie Thelen captained the defense with 14 digs.
