(KNSI) — A local orthopedics provider has been chosen as the exclusive medical partner for St. Cloud State University Athletics.

CentraCare M Physicians Orthopedics will provide sports medicine services to St. Cloud State athletes, including mental health services.

In a press release, Rachel Johnson, St. Cloud State University’s director of sports medicine, says, “CentraCare has come in seamlessly with extraordinary, top-notch, orthopedic and sports medicine services for our Huskies athletes. Their doctors and therapists are dedicated to providing the best services possible for our collegiate athletes. St Cloud State Athletics could not be more excited to work with their team of sports medicine experts.”

Calling the range of services unprecedented for the school, CentraCare’s sports medicine physician Dr. George Morris says the partnership is designed to be next level. “Simply having a physician or trainer at games is insufficient these days. A first-rate program must also offer everything from nutrition counseling, to athletic trainers, to sports psychology support, to rehabilitation and more. CentraCare is proud to serve our young athletes in this way.”

The services will be offered with the start of the fall sports season.
