(KNSI) – A regional realtor group is helping Randall homeowners and businesses still affected by flooding from June’s storm with $30,000 in donations.

CEO Dolly Matten says, “When disaster strikes and a homeowner’s typically largest financial asset becomes threatened, or they are unable to live safely in their own home, it’s time to jump into action.”

Over a foot of rain fell overnight on the 23rd into the 24th. The National Weather Service says it was a once-in-500-year soaker. The Little Elk River overflowed its banks and submerged the Morrison County city.

The damage is conservatively estimated at $2 million. The Greater Lakes Association of Realtors is chipping in $30,000. The organization is dedicated to helping people bounce back after natural disasters.

The aide is in addition to over $83,000 raised by the Randall Area Flood Recovery Task Force and St. James Catholic Church. Compeer Financial gave $10,000 in business relief.

All aide efforts are being coordinated by the Initiative Foundation.
