Watertown-Mayer 28, (1-2) Albany 7: In the Gate City Bank Game of the Week, the Royals used big plays through the air to pull away from a scrappy Huskies squad. W-M quarterback Albert Rundell threw three first half touchdowns in a stellar performance. He tallied nearly 280 pass yards, including two scoring strikes to Ashton Hecksel and another to Gannon Lee. Albany’s Adam Dennis opened the scoring with a 66-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Eden Valley-Watkins 36, (0-3) Holdingford 7: The Huskers’ Connor Patrick rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort.

(3-0) Sauk Rapids-Rice 31, Alexandria 17: The Storm stay perfect, winning a tough road assignment at Alex. The Cardinals’ Walker Hennen scored from one yard out to get the home team on the board first. Sauk Rapids-Rice punched it in on three consecutive drives. Quarterback Keegan Patterson ran one in and threw for two others, one each to Andrew Harren and Shaun Walrath. SR-R’s 23-7 lead was trimmed to a one score game in the third quarter. Patterson and Harren connected again on 4th and 10 from 22 yards out to make it 31-17 with 4:52 left in the frame.

(4-0) ROCORI 52, (1-3) Apollo 0: Spartan quarterback Jack Spanier threw two touchdown passes. He found Adam Langer from 17 yards out and tight end Evan Acheson caught a 51-yard scoring strike. Spanier kept it on the ground for an eight-yard run. Running back Mason Dahl rushed for two touchdowns of five and 30 yards.

Cambridge-Isanti 31, (0-4) St. Cloud Tech 0: C-I’s Levi Maurer rushed 23 times for 163 yards, averaging over 7 yards per carry with two touchdowns.
