(KNSI) — September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and CentraCare Health is offering two free virtual suicide prevention training sessions.

The sessions are designed to teach people how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, ask questions and connect someone at risk to care.

The first session is Monday, September 12th, from noon to 1:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 29th, from noon to 1:00 p.m. with CentraCare’s Suicide Prevention Program Manager Lisa Bershok.

Officials say suicidal thoughts can affect anyone regardless of age, background or gender. These thoughts may occur due to untreated mental health conditions or challenging circumstances.

Registration is required, and space is limited. Register by clicking here.

If you or someone you know needs support now, call or text 988 or chat by clicking here to connect with a trained crisis counselor who can help.
