(KNSI) — Highway 55 just east of Kimball is closing for several weeks starting Monday, September 12th.
Local traffic will still be allowed, but drivers attempting to pass through the area will need to use County Road 7 and County Road 44 as a detour, looping north through Fairhaven as crews replace a storm sewer and water main.
A larger project resurfacing 14 miles of the highway is also ongoing. The work stretches from Kimball to Annandale. One-way traffic will operate under flag control even after the utility lines are replaced.
Work started in downtown South Haven last Tuesday but expanded to a full-blown closure today.
