(KNSI) – A Habitat for Humanity home to be built by St. Cloud Tech High School students has a family.
When Tech Tiger Build Seven is finished next spring, it will go to Mohamed, Ifrah and their children. The couple was recently approved for Habitat’s Homeownership Program. According to a social media post, the family values being a part of the community and making a difference where they can. The couple says purchasing a safe, affordable home will give them more opportunities for a better life.
Originally from Somalia, Mohamed and Ifrah came to the United States after spending 20 years as refugees in Kenya. The two say they’re blessed to raise their children in the United States. Their family enjoys parks, where the kids love playing on the swings and biking. They also like to spend time reading together.
Mohamed works at Sanctuary (an assisted living facility) and Saint Benedict’s Senior Center. He serves as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Trained Medication Aide. Mohamed hopes to become a nurse in the future.
