(KNSI) – Minnesota’s oldest provider of children’s mental health services is coming to the region.

Fraser will be opening up an Autism Center of Excellence in November at the Quarry Center in Waite Park. Executive Vice President Jan Luker discusses the care that will be provided at the new location.

“We are really going to focus there on providing intensive autism services with a combination of individual group and family training using applied behavioral analysis or ADA concepts and principles.”

Luker encourages parents to learn more at the organization’s website. A link is here.

Luker says the organization intends to staff the facility locally. There are several jobs posted, from entry level to clinician. Luker says every hire will be well prepared to help children when the center welcomes its first patients.

“For some of these entry level positions, we will train you and we will provide that expertise in our longevity of service delivery in this area. And for those who may already have a degree in the mental health area or in the area of ADA, we would welcome those applications as well.”

Luker says working with children is a great opportunity for providers who deal exclusively with adolescents and adults. She says her background is as a clinician and she really enjoyed the variety that comes with serving younger patients.
