(KNSI) — One person is dead, and another was seriously injured in a seven-vehicle pileup crash on Interstate 94 Monday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol says that just before 3:00, the vehicles were heading west on 94 at Highway 101 North in Rogers. Traffic in the right lane was stopped when one car rear ended another, setting off the chain reaction.

They say a 57-year-old man from Zimmerman, a 23-year-old man from Elk River, a 33-year-old man from Otsego, a 62-year-old woman from Annandale, a 42-year-old man also from Zimmerman, and a 39-year-old man from Albertville were not hurt. The driver of an Isuzu NPR truck, who authorities identified as 42-year-old Miguel Angel Deheza Perez of Brooklyn Center, was killed in the crash. His passenger, 19-year-old Gabriel Efrain Cardoza Lara of Monticello sustained life-threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.

Details in this story are based on those given in the initial crash report from the state patrol and may change without notice.
