(KNSI) — A home was severely damaged by a fire Tuesday morning, but the homeowner is expected to be OK, thanks to a quick thinking neighbor and two Sartell police officers.
According to the Sartell fire department, crews were called to the home on the 1900 block of 4th Street North just before 3:30. Two officers arrived on the scene, forced their way into the house, and found one person asleep. They alerted the person to the fire and helped them to safety. Authorities say there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Police said it was a neighbor who spotted the fire and called 911. Quick actions by all, they say, saved lives and spared nearby homes from being damaged.
