(KNSI) – Cold Spring City Council is scheduled to have a special meeting Monday afternoon at 4:30.

On the agenda is a discussion with the City of Richmond to continue the joint policing agreement and an update on the search for a new administrator and whether Cold Spring will use David Drown Associates or another executive hiring firm to help find a replacement. Brigid Murphy is stepping down after six years in the role. Her last day is August 25th.

The group will also review a study conducted on municipal employee compensation. Cold Spring is looking to adopt a new pay and benefits scale after consulting with several other area cities.

The expected overall budget impact will be a 1.25 percent increase in salary expense. Pay must be set within a range, influenced by position and years of experience. No employees are currently paid below the new salary minimum, but four are paid above the potential salary maximum.

The council will decide whether to adopt pay adjustments immediately or phase in changes over a longer period.
