(KNSI) — On Monday, St. Cloud residents will get their first look at how much money officials say they need to run the city as Mayor Dave Kleis presents his proposed 2023 budget to the city council.
“The first opportunity for a public hearing will be on the 12th of September. That’s the night the council has the opportunity to set the preliminary levy. Of course, the final hearing is not until December. So it gives plenty of time for you to review that budget. That’s why it is presented early in August.”
The city council will have the final say on the budget when it’s approved in December. St. Cloud’s 2022 budget was around $79 million. That was a 4.1% increase from the 75.8 million St. Cloud spent in 2021.
The city’s enterprise funds budget will be presented in November. That includes services like sewer and water, parking, and the River’s Edge Convention Center.
The budget presentation is at 6:00 p.m. at St. Cloud City Hall. Afterward, the budget will be posted on the city’s website. The city will take public comment next month.
