(KNSI) — More than half a million dollars is being made available for training through St. Cloud State University’s Center for Continuing Studies, SCR (formerly St. Cloud Refrigeration), and Grede Casting.

Grede Casting, SCR, and SCSU are partnering with St. Cloud Technical and Community College, Ridgewater College, and Hennepin Technical College for customized training for those already in their career field to gain new skills to enhance industry-specific skill sets in-house and developing new programming that other businesses can use.

The $550,000 grant money was awarded to St. Cloud State from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership.

Since 2011, the Center for Continuing Studies has partnered with 15 companies on grants totaling $3.9 million.
